Argentina: japanese companies will invest u$s 20 B in minning and oil

Aldo Leporati (LinkedIn). This week a commercial delegation formed by 20 Japanese companies will visit mining and hydrocarbon deposits in the provinces of Salta, Catamarca and Neuquén. Among them are JX Nippon Mining & Metals, Mitsubishi and Marubeni.



Representatives of the firms Chiyoda Corporation are also part of the Japanese delegation; Mitsui & Co.; JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration; Nippon Koei Co.; Mitsubishi Materials; Sumitomo Corporation; HANWA Co.; Toyo Engineering Corporation; JOGMEC; Maxell; INPEX Corporation; Itochu; and Sojitz.

Argentina is the 5th Latin American exporting country to Japan, in a bilateral relationship that in 2018 turns 120 years. 74 are the Japanese companies that operate in the country, which registers Japanese investment for us$ 1624 million in the last 2 years, mainly in the automotive industry, and a bilateral trade of us$ 1,700 million during 2017. Currently they live in Japan 4,500 Argentines and in Argentina about 54,000 Japanese.
